Pelikula@Kultura has a comprehensive aspiration of instigating a culture of filmmaking in our region. The conference is a means to stir our spirits to see the various facets—images, artifacts, traditions—of our culture and reflect on the possibilities of translating these riches into information transfer, expressions or advocacies through the art of film. The title-theme connotes the unlimited place of the art of film in our culture, hence, the use of the symbol “@” in Pelikula@Kultura which may mean ‘and’ in the Filipino language, or ‘at’ if seen in the contemporary digital language.
